Geographical Expertise: Guatemala, Honduras, Cambodia, Burundi. Previous experience also included significant travel throughout the Balkans, the Andean region and Southern Africa.
Ms. Camino Kavanagh has broad experience in peace-building and peacekeeping coupled with a research background in international relations and strategic affairs. Most recently, she worked as Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the
Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), working principally on strategy and policy development, with significant focus on political institutions and processes. Ms. Kavanagh has field experience in political affairs, human rights, and rule of law in UN peacekeeping within Africa and Central America. She has served as advisor in three judicial reform processes (Central America and Southeast Asia) as well as completed internships at the European Parliament and European Commission.
Her skills include political analysis, policy and strategy development;
assessment; strategic planning; and programme management. She has a keen interest in
information technology and cyber security.
