Steve Hege, Peacebuilding and Security Sector Reform
Prior to joining CIC, Steve worked with the Peace Appeal Foundation, providing technical advice on security sector reform to dialogue processes in Lebanon and Nepal as well as spearheading peacebulding program design in Colombia. Previously, He worked as a DDR officer with the UN peacekeeping mission in the DR Congo and a regional advocacy officer with Jesuit Refugee Service in Burundi. Steve also studied the role of churches in conflict zones throughout Colombia as a Fulbright scholar. Additionally, he has supported research with Refugees International, Human Rights Watch, and the International Peace Institute.
Steve holds a postgraduate specialization degree in Armed Conflict Resolution from the Universidad de Los Andes (Bogotá), along with a dual master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University (SIPA) & SciencePo-Paris.
