Parnian Nazary is a Program Officer for the Afghanistan Regional Project (ARP) at the Center on International Cooperation (CIC) in New York University. Ms. Nazary helps ARP implement projects on pressing political and regional issues facing Afghanistan. Her policy research focuses on equipping key stakeholders with information necessary to preserve education amidst reconciliation and political settlement efforts in Afghanistan. She also explores the future of Afghan women's rights amidst transition and reconciliation efforts.

Ms. Nazary also serves as a Special Advisor to the President of Paula Loyd Foundation, which provides scholarships for Afghan women to attend college in Kabul and the United States. She works to implement the mission of the foundation to empower women through education and develop leaders and thinkers committed to serving Afghanistan.

Prior to joining CIC, She has interned and worked at the Political Affairs Office at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington, DC; Iraqi Scholar Rescue Fund at the Institute of International Education; the Madeleine Korbel Albright Institute for Global Affairs at Wellesley College; and the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul. She attended Seeds of Peace in 2003 and 2004. She has presented on behalf of Seeds of Peace and about Afghanistan in 30+ meetings, conferences, and institutions including in the United Nations, Georgetown University, Tufts University, and schools in Kabul.

Ms. Nazary lived in Afghanistan until 2004, when she came to the United States to attend Phillips Exeter Academy. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College in Middle Eastern Studies and South Asian Studies with concentration on history and politics. Ms. Nazary is fluent in Dari/Farsi, Urdu, and is conversational in Arabic, Pashtu and Hindi.
